Training is a key component of WorkWise! programs and its mission to strengthen the local workforce through career growth and lifelong learning. Our programs to subsidize on-the-job training for employees is just one way WorkWise! supports local employers.

WorkWise! currently offers two key training programs for employers on Kaua‘i:

Employment And Training Fund For Employees
ETF provides training scholarships for incumbent employees so their employers can remain competitive in today's marketplace. To find out if your workplace is eligible for ETF opportunities, download the training application form and bring or fax it to the WorkWise! One-Stop Job Center.

On-the-Job Training
On-The-Job Training (OJT) reimburses employers for up to half of the hired trainee’s hourly wages during the training period. Employers and trainees must meet the eligibility criteria for programs such as displaced workers, Asian & Pacific Island immigrants, etc.

WorkWise! also partners with employers to offer Work Experience opportunities:

WorkWise! partners with public and private employers to provide Work Experience opportunities where participants learn job-specific skills through hands-on training. Employers gain direct contact with potential employees for up to three months at no cost to them, while contributing to a building a well-trained workforce on Kaua'i. Interested to participate? Download the employer sponsor form and forward to WorkWise! or give us a call to find out more.
